Reciprocal LinksReciprocal links occur when an agreement is made between two site owners to link to each other. The value is measured in both an increase in traffic and in adding to the site visitor's experience. Some refer to this as "link swapping" or "'link exchanges". We believe that inferred in this term is the word "relevant". The type of reciprocal link that we encourage are links with sites that are relevant to yours. Some assign the word "quality" to reciprocal linking though their definition of quality is focused solely on page rank. At DomainDrivers, we define quality using a different term: RELEVANCY. Page rank is a moving target, it changes over time. Though we agree the higher the page rank the better, there's a cost/benefit analysis to consider. It costs the same to get 10 links from high ranked sites as it does to get 50 links from relevant but not so highly ranked sites. And the 50 links would include the 10 high ranking sites. The site with 50 links will beat your pants off in the indexing game, every time, and will most likely get indexed sooner. It's numbers that count. Relevant numbers. To experience the best return on your investment in link building campaigns, exclusionary linking makes absolutely no sense, no matter how you cut it. Quite simply - from our considerable, street level, day-to-day experience with linking...It does not work! With linking you can play games, or win the game.
