Google "Easing" Panda Effects

Ma G's SPAM spokesmodel, Matt Cutts, [just teasing, Matt :)] talks about Google easing up on the websites caught in the "gray area" with Panda penalties.

Many of us have argued that the over-optimization and "too-many-links-on-a-page" penalties have unfairly hit real estate websites.

Will this "easing" be felt across real estate websites? We'll be watching.

Click the following link for a short video from Sir Cutts.

Google Rankings are Whack!

My phone has been ringing off the hook. My inbox is burning up. Clients can't get a hold of me and are freaking out. Why all this crazyness? Because the Google SERPs are whack!

With the latest release(s) of Panda 3.X, web rankings are all over the place. After 3.2 many sites fell off the edge of the world. Then they came back after Panda 3.3 ran. Now Panda 3.4! Make it stop! I'm getting no sleep.

The post I linked to below addresses some of these issues and you can actually Google (yikes!) "Panda release" and read tons of posts and articles addressing all this upheaval. This must be Google's April's Fools joke.

One thing I can confidently stress here; keep building great content and keep promoting it! Link building is web promotion, web promotion is marketing 101 in advertising your brand, your business, your website. Stay honest and true to your goals and you will be fine!

A couple key points to this attached link:

1) Sites with zero link building have been hit, while others with a ton of link building still show on page one.

2)Social signals (Likes, +1s, tweets) seem to be having a much bigger impact.

So everyone take a chill pill (as my kids like to say) and go back to creating great content and promoting that content through link building.

Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Condos

Here in Northern Virginia the weather has been warm, warm, warm. No winter and an early spring has the flowers blooming and the trees budding. It's times like this when I think of one of may favorite places in the world: the beach. So, I went online and starting looking for Myrtle Beach oceanfront condos. The water is much warmer than the mid-Atlantic and the golfing is great.

I found a great website specializing in Myrtle Beach real estate: check out their featured listings! I spoke with agents Mark Loomis and Jerry Pinkas and learned so much about the area and all the foreclosures available.

If you are interested in a golfing vacation spot, I highly recommend that you visit their oceanfront foreclosures. You just may find the deal you are looking for.

MyLionra - Social Networking for Real Estate Professionals

Everyday, or so it seems, someone adds a new social media website. It is starting to become a little dizzying (is that even a word?) trying to keep up with all the new methods to communicate with each other. I recently joined MyLionra and I am encouraging all my colleagues and clients to do the same. You can view my page here.

MyLionra, pronounced (my-lee-on-rah) which means "My Network" in Irish, was created by Paul Kelly in an attempt to bring together agents/brokers and other real estate professionals in an online community. Paul told me that is goal is to build a "network of professionals" that can assist each other in their businesses. "For example", he continued, "all real estate professionals need access to capital for their customers as well as their own investment properties. I have seen a growth in the private mortgage industry and expect that to continue. The only problem is that not everyone knows about the lenders or their financing programs. My ultimate goal is to build the largest network of professionals anywhere."

MyLionra is a new social platform with less than 1000 members but it is growing quickly. It was constructed in the Ning network architecture which really means there are places to upload videos, pictures, chat and post information about your business. And that allows you to participate in the fullest way possible.

Paul selected the name because he wants all his members to think of MyLionra as "My Network". If you want it to be "yours" you need to get involved. Paul explains: "The idea behind MyLionra is that in order for your network to work, you have to put time, energy, and effort into it. So many people sign up for networks only to create a profile, and then they get disappointed when nothing happens with it. I want the members to take ownership of their personal networks and generate some business."

An exciting aspect of MyLionra is that it is so new. When you join Facebook, you are compelled to participate how everyone else does. Plus the fact that it is so large and includes all industries. But with MyLionra, if you join now, you have a real opportunity to shape the network and truely make it "yours".

If you are concerned with real estate seo link building, here is an avenue to promote your website and build your brand. So give it a shot...but be sure to participate. Make posts, upload valuable videos and content, maybe even start a group! See you on My Network!

Google to Index Facebook Comments

Certainly a controversial topic for personal facebook users, but for you business users...Whoa! For those of you who have avoided facebook and social media to promote your website, this may change your mind.
For real estate agents and brokers, you can post in facebook information about your listings, coming open houses, interesting news in your community, etc.
Certainly a great link building strategy if Google and facebook follow through on this and don't bow to what I suspect will be a HUGE amount of protest among facebook users.

Lead Filtering in Myrsol

Several of our clients have wondered if the link they bought on referring sites like www.sciway.com and www.sedona.net were generating any leads for them. These link services can be quite pricey and it is smart business to identify the return on your investment.

If you have your site running on Myrsol, you can identify the source of your leads using the utility called "Lead Filtering" in your Admin module. Once you get a report, you can export the results into a spreadsheet.

Here's how you do it:

1) Log into your Myrsol Admin area

2) On the left menu, click Leads, then Leads again

3) Along the top of this screen, click Lead Filtering

4) Select a date range if you would like

5) In the search term text box, enter the referring site URL, for example: www.sciway.com

6) In the All Contacts box, select Referring URL

7) Click the search button

If you want to export the list, click the Export Leads button.

Now you can understand the leads generated from the link placement that you paid for and make an intelligent decision whether to continue or cancel.
